PHILOSOPHY
Welcome > Philosophy At SCPH, our President & CEO will drive the organization's vision with guidance from our Board. Executive management will be the models by which others follow. Vice Presidents will relinquish to executive directors, administrators and directors as much control of daily operations as is practical. Executive directors, administrators and directors will encourage their department head and staff members to participate in decision-making. Mutual respect and supportive interaction between and among the home office, facilities and services, and departments will promote faster adaptation to external and internal forces. Employees at all levels will be encouraged and expected to use their minds and to constantly look for ways to improve both their own learning and the learning of the organization. Suggestions, innovation and creativity will be rewarded. A part of management performance appraisals will be the extent to which new ideas are developed and implemented within their departments. The organization will strive to eliminate those policies, meetings and other barriers that inhibit organizational progress and development. Thoughtful risk-taking will be encouraged, and decisions will be made and problems will be handled without fear of reprisal. When issues are identified, we will be open and forthright in seeking to resolve them. Customers will be broadly defined to include one another, as well as residents, clients, families and others we serve. Each of us will share a sense of ownership of and loyalty to SCPH and will approach work with a confidence and passion reflective of genuine interest in the work to be done. Communications will help to reinforce the notion of work as meaningful and fun. The outcome of the above approach is a people-and values-driven organization that supports group synergy and focuses on each employee as an individual; where performance is continually measured against a greater vision of excellence that will enable SCPH to achieve and maintain leadership in the field, and where the casual observer can readily and consistently sense the passion, commitment, and enjoyment that we feel. |
